Jewel’s 1st Birthday Tea Party Suppliers Review

Theme : Strawberry Shortcake Tea Party

Color / Motiff : Candy color

Inspired from a fellow n@wie Jhoanne’s European Tea party for her daughter, I decided to have the same one also but incorporating Strawberry shortcake as the main character since Strawberry Shortcake loves to throw tea parties naman. I just so love the theme, it’s very girly! Perfect for our precious Jewel.

Venue : Villa Señor Resort (Linda Villaseñor 0917-5608025) / Rating : 10++

To have an out of town event is really a challenge for us. The initial plan for the venue was the front yard (fountain area) of hubby’s Tita, but it’s been raining for the past 3 days kaya we decided to move it nalang sa resort beside it since all of us including the guests will be checking in also in the resort. And then nung gabi swimming party naman kahit sobrang lamig sa Lucban parang Baguio na. Another Tita of hubby owns the resort kaya from checking in, breakfast , lunch, dinner and breakfast again the following day sobrang assistance ang ibinigay niya sa amin together with her staff.

Syempre pa, we are not just talking about discounts lang kung ‘di super discounts and freebies. We actually rented the entire Building 2 of the resort to accomodate more than 50 guests from Manila, Pampanga and Pakil. We are so happy with the services kasi naman buong resort naka-reserve sa amin for 2 days halos.

Invitation : Flower Pinwheel at Divisoria Mall / Rating : 10

Bought this flower pinwheel from Divisoria, it’s the printshop beside Kyle’s Partyshop in Divimall. Nakakatuwa nga kasi pag kabalik ko dun after 2 weeks, nakadisplay sa shop yung sample invitation ni Jewel. It was a perfect alternative sa printed invitation.

Video invitation / Video Editing / Pre -Birthday Photoshoot : Mimi & Bot Tana (0917-5457148) / Rating : 10++

I was so blessed to have friends who are super talented. The video invitation was entirely shot in Japanese Garden, Lake Caliraya, Laguna. Caterer : Koffeeklatch (Lala Valde 0917-560075) / Rating : 10+++

Another Quezon based supplier who is one of the high end caterers there. I was really super impressed with their set-up and sobrang daling kausap ni Ms. Lala. I got their 215 per head package (Spaghetti, fried chicken, beef casserole, pork hardinera, fish fillet in mayo garlic, mixed veggies with quail eggs). They don’t have a set menu kasi create your own menu sila depending on your budget and preference.

Sobrang dami kong upgrades and freebies such as : upgrade to 24 pcs tiffany chairs, drapes, breadsticks (kakatuwa yung breadsticks ko ibang shape) / mallows for the chocolate fountain, extra cups and saucers for the coffee and tea bar, etc.

The staff were all so helpful and may "kusa", no need na utusan pa. They were very creative also, alam mong alam nila ang ginagawa nila. Basta I am super duper happy!

Cakes / Pastry Bar : Koffeeklatch (Lala Valde 0917-560075) / Rating : 10+++

Famous for their broas, Koffeeklatch used to be a bakeshop lang muna before they ventured into catering and restaurant business kaya I know that I am in good hands if you’re talking about cakes and pastries.

To complement my tea party theme, kaya I decided to have a pastry / desert bar. Sobrang dami pala nitong laman ng pastry bar ko ( 4 pcs petite cakes, brownies galore, mini muffins, caramel bar), akala ko basta lang kaya I am thinking pa nga sana of adding doughnuts eh, buti nalang di na ako bumili kasi as in super mega daming pastries. Again, I am very happy with their services pati ang sarap ng mga pastries, one of the favorites yung cupcakes kasi ang sarap ng icing pati yung chocolate caramel cake and mango cake…yummy!

Party Host / Sound system : Miles Royales of Wave Events (0926-5824853) / Rating : 9

She’s a Lucena based Events planner which I met lang via the net. She replies quickly on my texts kaya nga feeling ko n@wie din sya. She’s not really into hosting kiddie parties, mas sanay siya sa weddings, but she delivered naman well despite of her pregnancy. Her events coordination skills is good kasi nga sanay sya sa weddings na mas harrassed and ngarag. What I like about is that she brought with her 1 events assistant pa kaya I’m so happy about it.

I did not hire a clown or a magician, kasi gusto ko Party host lang talaga. Ang challenge kasi dito is I am trying to come up with a children’s party na adult party din na ang gusto lang ay magvideoke and mag-inum lang ng kape habang nagkwekwentuhan.

Magaling din yung binigay niyang Sound system with 1 technician kasi the morning ng event nawalan ng power supply sa venue, bilis gumawa ng paraan kaya before mag start ang party okei na ang soundsystem ko.

A Lucban based Photographer. I’m quite satisfied with his work ‘tho I know there were a lot of Manila based photographer with the same rate who can do a lot better. Hay na miss ko tuloy si John Aguas! But I guess in the area, I might consider him as one of the best because he’s offering digital packages already.

Choco / Mallows Centerpieces – Choclittalk by (Rico del Rosario (02) 7443223 (0910)9106243) / Rating : 10

Syempre pa regular client ako nito. I wanted an edible centerpiece this time for the kids kaya when I learned na gumagawa na si Kuya Rico nito nag-order na agad ko. And super click syempre. Ako lang ang nag-arrange and happy ako kasi with only 50 to 70 pesos meron ka ng kakaibang table centerpiece.

Face Painting – Chris Lopez / Noel Regaya and the Gang (09173968719) / Rating : 10++

Every time na may birthday party sa family namin, etong grupo ng kapatid ko na puro artists ang laging nag-proprovide ng face painting sa akin. Wala silang template na gagayahan as in they will just ask the guests kung anong gusto nila and they will do it. Since mga artists naman sila kaya kahit walang gayahan, kaya naman nakakabilib sila.

Balloons / Choco Fountain / Tarpulin : D-I-Y by JLo

Sobrang laki na ng improvement ko sa pagawa compared to my previous work. Ayun nga lang super ngarag ang beauty ko. I bought the Strawberry shortcake mylar kay Jenny Ang (also a n@wie), ako na lang ang nag-arrange, same goes with the balloon burst, pillars, balloon ceiling etc…

2:00pm as in an hour before the event nagluluto pa ako ng chocolate. Ang hirap pala if mag-isa ka lang, huhu! While everyone is dressing up na ako di pa prepared kaya ayun tuloy 1 1/2 kilos lang na-prepare ko. Pero nung nakita kong pabalik balik ang guests and ubos agad, sulit na din.

Costume Jewelry : Beads Necklaces - D-I-Y by JLo and MIL

Since naging hobby na ni MIL ang pagawa ng beads kaya upon entrance ng guests they can choose kung anong gusto nilang necklace na mag-ble-blend sa suot nila.It goes well with the theme na tea party for Lords and Ladies.

As always, Ka Rodel of E & R never failed me. All my requirements whenever I have parties, be it woodworks, paper products, boxes etc. were all sourced out from him.

I bought the tela ng suot namin sa Divi, pinagawa ko lang sa Tita ko, and all the party stuff including the mini-teapots etc… and as usual sobrang happy ako sa mga good finds ko…
