How to Melt Chocolate for Chocolate Fondue / Chocolate Fountain
August 2, 2009For D-I-Y moms out there try this out:
Chocolate fountains are a really fun dessert item to have at any party. Perfect for wedding and baby showers, birthdays and to any event. Make it a success by using the right kind of chocolate and melting it the right way. The best kind of chocolate to use is one made for a chocolate fondue fountain. You can buy different varieties of chocolates such as Super Premium, Premium, Bittersweet, Dark chocolate, White Chocolate at specialty stores.
Step 1 - Using a double broiler, add water and simmer it / do not boil (low temperature only).
Step 2 - Get a pan that you want to put on top of your broiler (it doesn’t have to fit perfectly) and put the chocolate bar and start mixing (you have an option to chop it first in chunks or put it straight in your broiler).
Step 3 - Mix “oil” or flavored oil (used for candies) if you want to add flavor on your chocolate mix. But I am recommending using CBS (Cocoa Butter Substitute) to “liquify” the mixture to get the consistency you want for your chocolate fountain. For easy flow, I am following this ratio : 1 kilo of chocolate : 1/2 kilo of CBS.
Step 4: Mix well until you reach your desired consistency. Add more CBS if needed.

hello, where can i buy CBS? I searched in different groceries but can’t find one. please help asap. thanks very much!
